Title
Quinta Essentia
Fiscal Sponsorship Program Administrator (Part-Time)
Program Description The Alchemical Nursery’s Quinta Essentia Fiscal Sponsorship Program is:
“a practice that has evolved as an effective and efficient means of starting new charitable initiatives,
delivering public services, and seeding social movements;
Fiscal sponsors are nonprofits that enable the movement of resources from funders and donors
to projects, activities, ideas, and organizations that share the fiscal sponsor’s mission." -The Tides Center
Samples of Alchemical’s current fiscally sponsored projects, whose start-up and operations have been facilitated through our program include: Syracuse Grows, The Biochar Research Guild, Syracuse First, Art Music People, Themselves Has Been a Gathering artist Tina Zagyva, The Color of Family, The Green Fire Foundation, and more.
Duties
The Program Administrator will work with current Alchemical Nursery Board of Directors to manage the operations of the Quinta Essentia program:
- Review and intake of Quinta Essentia program inquiries
- Budget maintenance and fiscally sponsored project accounts bookkeeping
- Intake, deposit and release of funds via cash, money orders, and checks
- Development and distribution of marketing and promotions
- Development of a program operations manuals
- On-site supervision of CoWorking Studio Office
Qualifications
- Support the Alchemical Nursery Mission* and Quinta Essentia Program Description
- Desktop (Office) and cloud (Google Docs) word processing and spreadsheet proficiency
- Bookkeeping proficiency
- Money handling ability and experience
- Excellent organizational, people, oral and written communication skills
- Flexibility, a good sense of humor, and creativity
- Ability to work effectively in an under-resourced environment
- Experience working on fund raising, ecologically sustainable, and/or right livelihood issue campaigns is helpful
Hours and Compensation
- 10 hours/wk at $13.11/per hour
- The anticipated start date is January 15, 2010. The position is funded for 47 weeks
- A regular office hours schedule will be required to include morning and afternoon hours. Must also attend Board of Director meetings held in the evening once per month
Description of Staff Responsibilities
The administrator will be required to attend a bi-weekly staff meeting with Board of Director supervisor(s); to complete a daily time log of hours; and to provide a weekly written report of tasks accomplished and financial transactions completed.
The administrator is expected to participate in all scheduled Board of Director meetings, sharing in agenda setting, facilitation, record keeping, and
consensus building.
