When a member of the Syracuse
Permaculture and Urban Homesteading Guild asked that they ""Would love to know what to be thinking about and doing now in preparation for next year's growing season", we pulled together some ideas to present this upcoming "Potluck Picnic and Intro Permaculture Workshop: Getting your garden ready for Winter and Spring".Potluck starts at 12 noon, the workshop gets underway at 12:30 pm, and continues till 2:30 pm. There will be about 45 minutes to one-hour of lecture and discussion, followed by one-hour of hands-on participation (one thing we'll do is create some
hugelkultur beds from downed woody debris). We’ll be meeting at
717 Otisco Street, Syracuse, NY, a newly acquired property on the Near Westside that will be developed with Permaculture Principles and Techniques.
Please keep in mind these important logistics for the event:
- Potluck will be picnic style, no cooking or warming facilities will be available.
- Also, please bring your own bowl/plate/utensils and cups.
- Trash will be carry-in, carry-out; no trash bins will be provided.
- However, compostable materials may be left on site.
