~~~~ Criteria for Judging Stipend Commission Applications ~~~~
a. Timeliness – application submission is received by the deadline of Wednesday April 14, 2010.
b. Completeness – application has full artist contact details and description of proposed artwork.
c. Awareness – proposed artwork relates to project goals of bringing awareness to extreme consumption and associated waste.
d. Mission – proposed artwork shows affinity to the mission of the Alchemical Nursery: “The Alchemical Nursery Project is a non-profit organization committed to promoting the development of sustainable, regenerative urban lifestyles and landscapes, and furthering the principles of
Permaculture, with the ultimate goal of creating right livelihood and community utilizing the ecovillage & intentional communities frameworks and philosophy.”
The Alchemical Nursery recognizes the value in all materials, and the associated value in re-purposing materials rather than sending them to a waste landfill or recycling facility. The word “trash” is used for this project to bring attention to the insane practice of over-consumption and disposal that is taken for granted in modern society – for everything comes from Mother Earth and should be respected as such.
