The Glossary Link Alchemical Nursery is proud to present the International Social Action Film Festival (ISAFF)!  The fest will feature local and international films about social change. Some highlights include local works featuring Syracuse's 40 Below and the Syracuse Peace Council, and War Dance , an Academy Award nominee and Sundance Film Festival winner about the power of music and dance amidst war in Uganda.  The ISAFF has been featured in city's around the world, including Los Angeles, Cario, Sydney and Berlin.  Proceeds from this event will help the Alchemical Nursery Project to further develop our Glossary Link Permaculture Center and Regenerative Trades School, working for food security in Syracuse through perennial poly-culture landscapes.

The Glossary Link Alchemical Nursery Project is presenting the "Lead to Gold" Alchemical Trash Art Exhibit to showcase the works from the Trash Art Challenge.  Local artists have taken discarded and found objects to show how trash can be redesigned into works of art.  Come by and check out the exhibit and the special events below.

It's also not too late to submit art to the show!   Participating artists will receive free tickets for both nights of the International Social Action Film Festival and be featured on The Alchemical Nursery Project website.  In addition, a panel of judges will award the "Most Creative" entry with a cash prize equal to the amount bid for the artist's work.  Artists should download the Trash Art Challenge Artists Agreement for participation info.

Opening night: Third Thursday, 5-9pm
The May 21st opening night is part of the Third Thursdays citywide arts open.

Music and performance art: Saturday, May 23, 8pm

In order to facilitate show organization logistics for marketing, promoting and set-up, we do ask that you submit your Trash Art soon. 

Hours for submitting Art will be between 10 am and 2 pm, next Monday through Thursday, at Alchemical's studio at the Gear Factory (200 S. Geddes St, Syracuse, NY 13204).  You may also contact us ahead of time to set up an appointment for drop-off outside of office hours.
