ANP
Positive Urban Transformation • Piecing The Puzzle Together

Our Alchemical Nursery serves as an incubator for a holistic transformational process in our cities. This process unfolds in the same way a series of dominoes topple: once one piece of the puzzle is set in motion, others surely follow.

A critical mass is being created, and we are riding the waves toward urban salvation.

Forest Garden Immersion Course PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 15 February 2009

This "Hands-on Training to Design and Implement Edible Landscapes" is being held at nearby Camp Epworth Permaculture Demonstration & Education Center in High Falls, NY from April 23-26, 2009.  The Alchemical Nursery Project (ANP) is a "pollinating partner" through the Living Mandala  collective and a portion of the funds from the course registrations will support ANP from those who mention our name during sign-up.  As an added bonus, participants who register under the referral of ANP will receive a free Alchemical Nursry Project t-shirt (please notify us at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it when your registration is complete).

Course Inspiration
Imagine a forest where every single tree is dripping with fresh fruits and ripening nuts. Every shrub is packed with delicious berries, and every other plant is a medicinal herb, culinary spice, or beautiful edible flower. Tubers and root crops are abundant underfoot, gourmet mushroom logs sprout in the shade, and hardy kiwi vines climb back up through the layers of this multi-functional forest of food. During the 4-day (Thu-Fri-Sat-Sun) course, participants learn how to design, establish, and maintain such Edible Forest Gardens of Eden.

Course Description
This course immerses participants in the thriving local forest gardening culture of the Hudson Valley. Together we will engage in the practical skills of forest gardening: propagation, grafting, planting & mulching, soil ecology, basic botany & horticulture, management & maintenance, plant identification, mushroom inoculation, foraging & wild edibles, community preparation of local medicines, and fresh forest garden cooking. We will explore nature, build community, expand last year's garden and celebrate the abundance with the local community!
