Meet The Board

As a 501c3 non profit organization, The Alchemical Nursery Project is required to have a board of directors. Our board is small, and each person is a working member, serving on at least one of The Alchemical Nursery Project's committees .

Elizabeth Slate, Co-Founder

After having a child and knowing how important it is to have a healthy environment in which to raise one, I began searching for options, and found the ecovillage. The ecovillage movement aims to nurture the growth of regenerative lifestyles.

This is the work of many lifetimes and people and paths. Taking a holistic approach to life and its challenges gives me hope for personal and collective evolution.

Frank Raymond Cetera, Co-Founder and Board President

If there is one single thing I want to expose about myself in this bio it is my excitement and belief in what we are working towards -

a healthy and sustainable urban community for Syracuse, and providing the tools and skills necessary for other urban communities to do the same.  This is truly important to me because it affects the people in my life - my friends, my family, my dog Micky, my neighbors, and all other living creatures that abound - and the environment in which we choose to live together.

My time abroad during the summer of 2008 did not simply lead me far away from Syracuse and the ANP in a geographical sense in search of answers and experiences - it has indeed led me closer to Syracuse and the ANP in a spiritual sense.  My working in the  forestry sector, and time spent with two intentional communities have provided knowledge, sharing, work experience, personal  friendships and connections, an increased sense of spirit and self, and an exploding realm of passion for the work of the ANP here in Syracuse that, unbelievably, fully eclipses my previous overwhelming feelings on the subjects we hold dear here.

And although I have a few bits of education, work and community experience which should probably be listed here in any proper biography; let's leave this just short of a resume in its current form, and suffice to say that it is in Syracuse and the Alchemical Nursery Project that I have found the fertile and sprouting fields in which to apply my passions and repertoire of education and skills towards MANIFESTING the future you and I desire into bloom.
